無意間看到的一句話

Formalists cognize nothing; functionalists regulate nothing.
Linguistics in between are good at nothing.

仔細觀察前兩句話的用字,其實搭配的還挺有趣的.
會聯想到句話,是在上第三堂發音學的課時,洪老師提到羅素在演講唯心論及唯物論時,
羅素的開場白運用了一句文字上的幽默與逗趣說了
"What is mind? It doen't matter. What is matter? It doesn't mind."

的確,要身為一個語言學家除了懂得分析語言,語料,聽音,辨音,記音等這些基本功夫外...對文字的敏感度與使用技巧似乎要比一般人更加敏銳!
